Katrina Taylor was crowned Miss Worldwide 2017
at the Hotel RL Omaha Ballroom in Omaha, Nebraska on July 27, 2017. Her previous reign was as Miss South Dakota Worldwide 2017. Katrina’s platform is to raise awareness about child abuse and neglect, since she has firsthand knowledge of the subject, having previously suffered this throughout her childhood. Through many obstacles and challenges, Katrina has sought to overcome them all and now publicly speaks out about her life experiences in order to inspire and help others. She has been featured on local news stations and in her local newspaper. She was the guest speaker for an annual fundraiser for the Family Visitation Center and has been invited to be the guest speaker at their national conference in Fort Lauderdale, FL in May of 2018! As a planning committee member for the FVC, she strives to be on the Board of Directors.
Additionally, Katrina is 20 years old and resides in Sioux Falls, SD. She was recently hired as a Court Reporter at her local Federal Courthouse. As an online college student through the University of South Dakota, she majors in Criminal Justice and minors in Sociology. Katrina has plans to finish with a Law degree and become an Attorney. Her life-long dream is to work with children, specifically juvenile delinquents. Another goal of Katrina’s is to be on the Sioux Falls City Council and one day become the Mayor of the city.
Most importantly, Katrina is a woman of Faith! A verse she lives by is Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Through all the trials and tribulations in her life, Katrina has managed to overcome the obstacles and expresses her thankfulness to God.
